Jantar

Jantar is a Warsaw-based group comprised of four experienced Polish musicians: Jakub Ziołek (Stara Rzeka, Alameda, T’ien Lai), Grzegorz Tarwid (Sundial, Grzegorz Tarwid Trio, Ekuz, collaboration with Zbigniew Namysłowski, Marcin Masecki, Wojtek Mazolewski), Tomek Popowski (Alameda, Innercity Ensemble, Hokei, Pictorial Candi), Krzysztof Kaliski (Alameda, theatre music for Wiktor Rubin, Magda Szpecht, Weronika Szczawińska).

Sharing the love for the sophisticated pop music and the melodies and harmonies of Música Popular Brasileira, musicians propose a set of original compositions that are characterized both by the Eastern European emotionality and South American imagination. What we get in the process are eight atmospheric and moving songs written in Polish language that intermingle pop with subtle psychedelia and jazz panache.
